Troubleshooting

Unit making noise

Cause: Loose fasteners, vibration from compressor, or fan issues
Solution: Check and tighten all fasteners; inspect compressor mounting; verify fan operation
May require a professional

Reduced cooling capacity

Cause: Dirty coils, insufficient refrigerant charge, or airflow restriction
Solution: Clean outdoor coil; check for refrigerant leaks; verify adequate clearances around unit
May require a professional

Compressor not starting

Cause: Electrical connection issue, low voltage, or compressor failure
Solution: Verify proper electrical connections; check voltage at unit; inspect contactor and capacitor
May require a professional

High discharge temperature

Cause: Low refrigerant charge, dirty condenser coil, or restricted airflow
Solution: Check refrigerant level; clean coil; verify outdoor fan operation and clear blockages
May require a professional

Outdoor fan not running

Cause: Capacitor failure, motor failure, or electrical issue
Solution: Check capacitor voltage; inspect fan motor; verify electrical connections to fan

Reset Procedures

Do not apply capillary tube indoor coils to these units. Only use coils matched to this condenser for proper system operation.

Unit must be level in all horizontal planes for proper operation and oil return to compressor.

Ensure adequate ventilation around outdoor unit to prevent re-circulation of discharge air, especially when installing multiple units in enclosed areas.

Use only copper wire for electrical connections. Aluminum and clad aluminum connectors are not acceptable for this unit.

Factory-supplied filter drier must be installed. Do not operate system without proper filtration.

Maximum outdoor operating air temperature is 125°F. Do not operate unit in hotter ambient conditions.

Minimum outdoor operation air temperature for cooling mode without low-ambient accessory is 55°F.
