Troubleshooting

Refrigerator does not cool properly

Cause: Vents are blocked, door left open, or thermostat set incorrectly
Solution: Check that air vents are not blocked by food or plastic bags, close door completely, verify temperature settings are correct

Water dispenser not working

Cause: Water filter clogged, water line not connected, or water supply line shut off
Solution: Replace water filter, check water line connections are tight, verify main water supply is on

Ice maker not producing ice

Cause: Water line disconnected, water filter clogged, or ice maker turned off
Solution: Press Test button on ice maker to verify operation, check water line connection, replace water filter if needed, verify ice maker is turned on

Door will not close properly

Cause: Refrigerator not leveled or door hinges misaligned
Solution: Use leveling feet to properly level refrigerator, check door alignment and adjust using snap rings if needed

Abnormal sounds from refrigerator

Cause: Normal operational sounds or ice making in progress
Solution: Allow 1-2 days for ice maker to normalize, listen for specific sound type in troubleshooting section

Temperature display blinking

Cause: Door left open frequently or large amount of food added, causing temperature to rise above set point

Solution: Discard first 1-2 glasses of water before using

Water appears cloudy when dispensed

Cause: Water pressure increase during filtering causes oxygen and nitrogen saturation
Solution: This is normal; water will clear after a few seconds

AutoFill Pitcher not filling or overflowing

Cause: Water line not properly connected or pitcher not seated correctly in holder
Solution: Check water line connection, remove and reseat pitcher in holder, check for moisture on pitcher contact points

Ice bucket tray not staying in place or ice dropping behind bucket

Cause: Ice stored for long time undergoes sublimation, or clumping after power loss

Door bins falling or not staying in place

Solution: Empty bin, insert slightly above final position ensuring back is against door, press down firmly

Frost buildup in drawers or on walls

Cause: Drawers not closing properly or filled too much
Solution: Do not overload freezer/FlexZone drawers, ensure drawers close completely, check proper basket positioning

Reset Procedures

Filter Reset

  1. When Filter Reset indicator blinks red, water filter needs replacement
  2. Shut off water supply line
  3. Open filter cartridge cover
  4. Turn filter knob counter clockwise 90 degrees (1/4 turn) to unlock
  5. Pull cartridge straight out to remove
  6. Insert new Samsung-approved filter cartridge
  7. Turn cartridge knob clockwise to lock into place
  8. Close filter cartridge cover
  9. Press and hold Ice Maker button for 3 seconds to reset filter lifecycle
  10. Open water valve and run water through dispenser for approximately 7 minutes to remove impurities and air

Display Reset (Family Hub and AI Home Hub models)

  1. Open the fridge door
  2. Locate switch cover on top right corner of door
  3. Push up the cover to reveal power switch
  4. Turn power off
  5. Turn power on
  6. Reinsert switch cover to the end until clicking sound is heard

MAC Address Display (General type models)

  1. Press and hold both Freezer and Fridge buttons for 6 seconds
  2. Temperature panel will blink
  3. Press Freezer button again to display MAC address
  4. MAC address displays sequentially for 1 minute in format: -- / -- then 11 / 22 then 33 / 44 then 55 / 66 then -- / --
  5. After 1 minute, MAC address disappears and panel returns to normal state
