Troubleshooting

May require a professional

The Refrigerator will not Operate

Cause: Power cord unplugged, outlet not working, blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker, controls off, refrigerator defrosting, or new installation cooling time needed
Solution: Plug into grounded outlet, test outlet with lamp, replace fuse or reset circuit breaker, turn on controls, wait 45 minutes for defrost cycle, allow 24 hours for new installation to cool

The Motor Seems to Run too Much

Cause: New refrigerator with high-efficiency compressor, warm room temperature, large food load, frequent door openings, or doors left open
Solution: This is normal operation for energy-efficient models. Minimize door openings and keep doors fully closed

If the Refrigerator is Noisy

Cause: Buzzing from water valve, pulsating fans/compressor, rattling from refrigerant flow or items on refrigerator, sizzling/gurgling during defrost, popping from expansion, water sounds during defrost, creaking from ice ejection, or banging during ice/water dispensing
Solution: These are normal sounds. If banging occurs, check if water hammer arrestor is required

There is no Audible Door Open Alarm

Cause: Door open for less than 10 minutes
Solution: Audible alarm only sounds after door is open for more than 10 minutes. Subsequent alarms will only flash

The Doors will not Close Completely

Cause: Door blocked by food packages or bin/shelf in the way
Solution: Move food packages away from door and push bin or shelf back into correct position

The Doors are Difficult to Open

Cause: Gaskets dirty or sticky
Solution: Clean gaskets with mild soap and warm water

The Lights Do not Work

Cause: Refrigerator in Sabbath mode or door open more than 10 minutes
Solution: Exit Sabbath mode or wait for door open timer to reset
May require a professional

Temperature is Too Warm

Cause: New installation, doors opened often or left open, large load of food added, controls not set correctly, refrigerator not cooling, or air vents blocked
Solution: Allow 24 hours for new installation, minimize door openings, wait several hours for temperature to return to normal, adjust controls to colder setting, reset digital controls or call service, remove items blocking air vents

There is Interior Moisture Buildup

Cause: Humid room environment or doors opened often or left open
Solution: Minimize door openings and keep doors fully closed. Some moisture buildup is normal

The Ice Maker is Not Producing Ice or not Enough Ice

Cause: Refrigerator not connected to water supply, supply shut-off valve off, kink in water line, ice maker off, new installation, large amount of ice recently removed, ice cube jammed in ejector arm, or reverse osmosis system reducing pressure
Solution: Connect to water supply and open shut-off valve, straighten water line, turn ice maker on, wait 24-72 hours for new installation, wait 24 hours after removing ice, remove jammed ice with plastic utensil, check water pressure from reverse osmosis system
May require a professional

The Ice Cubes are Hollow or Small

Cause: Low water pressure from shut-off valve not fully open, kink in water line, or reverse osmosis system reducing pressure
Solution: Turn water shut-off valve fully open, straighten water line, check water pressure with licensed plumber if using reverse osmosis system

Ice is Sticking Together in the Ice Storage Bin

Cause: Normal frost buildup on ice storage bin or infrequent ice dispensing/use
Solution: Empty and clean ice storage bin as needed. This is normal behavior

Off-Taste, Odor or Gray Color in the Ice

Cause: New plumbing connections, ice stored too long, odor transfer from food, minerals in water, or water filter needs additional flushing
Solution: Allow time for ice quality to improve after new connections, discard old ice and wash bin allowing 24 hours for new ice, use airtight moisture-proof food packaging, install water filter to remove minerals, or flush water filtration system more thoroughly

The Ice Dispenser Will Not Operate Properly

Cause: Freezer door not closed completely, ice bin not installed correctly, new installation, ice stuck in delivery chute, wrong ice added to bin, or ice melted around auger
Solution: Close freezer door firmly, ensure ice bin is firmly in position, wait 24-72 hours for new installation, remove ice bin and clear delivery chute with plastic utensil, use only cubes from current ice maker, or empty ice container and use warm water to melt ice around auger
May require a professional

The Water Dispenser will not Operate Properly

Cause: Freezer door not closed completely, refrigerator not connected to water supply, water pressure below 30 psi, kink in water line, new installation, clogged or incorrectly installed water filter, or reverse osmosis system connected to water supply
Solution: Close freezer door firmly, connect to water supply and open shut-off valve, verify water pressure is at least 30 psi, straighten water line, flush and fill water system, check water filter installation, verify water pressure from reverse osmosis system

Water is Leaking from the Dispenser

Cause: One or two drops of water after dispensing is normal, glass not held under dispenser long enough, new installation, or recently changed water filter
Solution: Hold glass under dispenser 2-3 seconds after releasing lever, flush water system after new installation or filter change

The Dispenser Water is not Cool Enough

Cause: New installation, large amount of water recently dispensed, water not recently dispensed, or refrigerator connected to warm water pipe instead of cold
Solution: Allow 24 hours for water to cool after installation, allow 24 hours to recool after heavy dispensing, discard first glass if not recently dispensed, connect refrigerator to cold water pipe
