Troubleshooting

Dryer not heating

Cause: Clogged vent, thermal fuse blown, or faulty heating element
Solution: Check and clean the dryer vent duct. If the vent is clear, the thermal fuse or heating element may need replacement.

Clothes taking too long to dry

Cause: Lint buildup in vent system restricting airflow
Solution: Clean the lint trap, clean the entire vent duct from dryer to exterior wall, and ensure the exterior vent flap opens freely.

Dryer is very hot to the touch

Cause: Severely restricted airflow from clogged vent
Solution: Stop the dryer immediately. This is a fire hazard. Clean the vent duct thoroughly before using again.

Unusual thumping or squealing noise

Cause: Worn drum rollers, damaged belt, or foreign objects in drum
Solution: Check for coins or small objects in the drum. If noise persists, drum rollers or the belt may need replacement.

Reset Procedures

General Reset

  1. Turn the dryer off.
  2. Unplug it or turn off the circuit breaker.
  3. Wait 1–2 minutes.
  4. Restore power and select a new cycle.

Thermal Fuse Check

  1. Unplug the dryer.
  2. Locate the thermal fuse (usually on the blower housing or exhaust duct).
  3. Test with a multimeter for continuity.
  4. If blown, replace the fuse and clean the vent duct before restarting (a blown fuse indicates a vent blockage).
